Each DISC Personalities type relates differently to time. Here’s a quick rundown:
Dominant: thinks of present and future. They don’t think a lot about the past. Their motto is:
DON’T WASTE TIME
As a result, they want quick meetings, short snappy communication, and a focus on present and future goals.
Inspiring: thinks of the present (if it’s exciting) and the future. They’re not at all wired to think about the past. Often they can’t even remember it let alone dwell on it. Their motto is:
HAVE A GOOD TIME
They want an environment that includes collaboration, humour, chatting, and light moments.
Supportive: focuses on the present and the past. They aren’t fans of “blue sky thinking.” Why talk about 5 years from now when the garbage needs emptying today? Their motto is:
GIVE TIME
They volunteer their time, enjoying building into meaningful relationships, doing good work, and following routine.
Conscientious: thinks of the past, the present, and is worried about the future. That’s because the future is unknowable, which concerns them because they like to control their environment. They like to get things right. So they think:
TAKE YOUR TIME (TO GET IT DONE RIGHT)
Do you relate to any of these?
