Why PLI exists
People are often given more responsibility before they are given a development system.
PLI grew from a problem inside operating businesses: talented people were taking on greater responsibility, but doing a job well did not automatically prepare them to hire, delegate, give feedback, manage performance, or lead other people.
Personality assessments helped create language for differences in working style, but assessment insight alone was not enough. People also needed practical instruction they could use in the responsibilities they were taking on.
Working with his business coach, PLI founder Justin Mitchell developed practical courses and frameworks for use across his companies and then made them available to others. The goal was a repeatable foundation for people already doing the work, not theory separated from it.
That operating need still shapes the platform today: understand people better, give them useful tools, and connect learning to the decisions, conversations, and responsibilities they face at work.
