As a company, you can be smart and/or healthy. Here’s a list of both by Patrick Lencioni. Which are you?
Smart |
Healthy |
Cutting-edge technology |
Minimal politics |
Clear strategy |
Minimal confusion |
Effective marketing |
High morale |
Strong financial controls |
Low turnover |
High personal productivity |
In my work, I find that companies spend most of their time worrying about being smart. But if I could choose for you, I would lean towards spending more time being healthy.
The reason is that healthy teams can much more easily figure out how to be smart, than smart teams can figure out how to be healthy.
