Here are two rules of life:
- The worse your taste in music, the louder you like it: Next time you’re at an intersection next to a chopped ’93 Civic with diamond mags, take note that the music blaring from this vehicle is never Beethoven.
- Never answer feelings with thoughts: Next time someone comes into your office with an issue, ask yourself if it is an issue that’s on their mind, or an issue that’s on their heart. If it’s a heart issue, your rational thoughts will not help the situation – you have to find out what’s on their heart and address that. If it’s an issue that’s on their mind, your rational thoughts will work just fine.
You’ll find that both of these maxims are true every time.
