I feel concerned when I hear about key employees moonlighting. At the end of the day, my concern isn’t about money – not getting a big enough bang for the buck or anything like that.
My problem is that I’ve never yet seen an example of part time passion. When you’re challenged and engaged in your job, it takes every ounce of your brain and energy.
So if you’re moonlighting, ask yourself if your job represents what you’re truly passionate about. If not, go find what it is and jump in neck deep.
And if you’re an employer with moonlighters, ask yourself, “How can I fully engage my people so they want to spend all of their energy here?”
Life is short; whatever you choose to do, pour your heart into it!
