Simplicity=Focus, Complexity=Chaos

One of the central concepts in Lean Manufacturing is simplicity. This is something that should guide our thinking when creating any new program or really designing anything within the business.

I don’t know why it is, but as an organization grows there is a desire to make things more complex.

Here’s a good rule of thumb:  If it can’t fit on one page, you don’t have a clear enough idea of what you’re after.

Whether it’s a job description, an HR system, an incentive/bonus plan or your company’s strategic plan, it needs to fit onto one page.
