Reflecting on a career of coaching people and groups, I can tell you that leopards don’t change their spots very often, and coaching someone to do so is not a productive use of your time.
But what does work is helping someone to implement a new tool. In the using of the tool, their behaviour is shaped, new habits are developed, and change happens.
If you want to get better at business acquisition, start using and managing weekly sales funnel. If you struggle with people and their roles, start using a top grading review chart and so on.
When you’re in the right seat, using new tools will help you get better and better and better.
