What If Everyone on the Team Shared the Attitude of Your Weakest Link?

I’ve always used 3 questions to help think through staff evaluations.  Briefly, they are:

  1. Would you enthusiastically rehire?
  2. Do they take away your stress (in their area)?
  3. How would you feel if they were to quit?

If they’re stars, you’ll answer ‘yes’ to questions 1 and 2, and something like ‘devastated’ to question 3.

Recently a client added a question that I thought was brilliant.  The question she asks when evaluating people is:

“What would your team look like if everyone on the team shared that person’s attitude?”

Kind of cuts through the clutter.
